Scientific American: Close-Up Views Of Tumors Reveal a New Cancer Biology

Today I read an article about cancer biology. They said a study about tumors show that tissues of cancer have a variety of cell. This means that cancers consist of a lot of types of cells. The fact was revealed by biotechnology, Single-cell RNA sequencing (RNAseq). We can find what genes are active in cells and what medicines are valid for cancers thanks to RNAseq.

Why All Pokemon Are Born Of An Egg?

イメージ
Hi everyone. Today, I'd like to talk about Pokemon. Some days ago, new Pokemon games were released in Japan. When I heard that I had a question, why they were born of eggs? In the game, most Pokemon yield eggs dislike real animals. To solve the question, I researched on the Internet and considered it by myself.  Through that, I got an answer, all Pokemon may be offspring of one kind of Pokemon. The Pokemon is Mew, the Pokemon has extinct. Mew has all genetics of Pokemon, which means  Mew may yield an egg. If all Pokemon evolved from Mew, it is natural that most Pokemon lay eggs. However, people have never found their eggs in the game.

PAPRIKA

One movie I really liked was "PAPRIKA". Satoshi Ima directed it. It was made in 2003 and won some awards at a movie festival.      The story was about detectives and our dream. It was set shortly. The main character was Paprika, a detective who can be in others' dreams. In the story, a machine enabled us to watch others' dreams but some people made others sick by using them. So Paprika started solving the problems.      I liked the movie because it had madness dislike others. I was fascinated by the abnormality. It looked like a common movie in beginning but the story got mud slightly. The process was so natural.

Structural Biology

Hi everyone. Today, I'd like to talk about "Structural Biology", one of the rising fields in biology. The field is developing, like synthetic biology, accordingly molecular biology's development. This is because a lot of researchers get interested in how biological molecular work in our body.      Structural biology is a field where researchers study mainly about a structure of biological molecular and their role using x-ray. Why they do that? It's because their structure enable them to work correctly. If the structure is changed by heat, pH, and genetic variation, they don't work and may cause some diseases. If we can understand their structure and how to make designed protein in detail, we can operate a lot of chemical reactions, for example, creating oil, producing energy by daylight more efficiently, and so on.      I'll tell a example about a disease, Sickle Cell Anemia, caused by structural change in protein. It prevents red blood...

Synthetic Biology

Hi everyone, I'd like to talk about Synthetic Biology, one of the most active fields in biology. These days, molecular biology has developed rapidly and we have got a lot of information about biological systems, for example, respiratory metabolism, cell division, genetic system, and so on. I think that synthetic biology may enable us to create life by non-living things. It sounds great and interesting but also scary.      I'll show one example of synthetic biology. Our DNA consists of four kinds of base, phosphate molecules, and deoxyribose. A scientist created DNA using five kinds of base, one of the base was designed by him. He adopted the DNA into an E. coil, in Japanese "Daityoukinn". Surprisingly, he can keep the E. coil alive. This mean that we might be able to create genetic system. I can't take my eyes off of synthetic biology.

A Picture of "Sheep's Emigration"

イメージ
There are a lot of sheep, one person, and a dog in the picture. What are they doing? I feel that they might be emigrating to somewhere. We can also think that they are taking a walk. However, they look like on a road. In addition, in the first time, I thought the dog is guiding the sheep, but he is lying. What are they doing? I can't understand the situation because of some mysterious things.
